Rubick retires to Coolmore Australia
Encosta de Lago’s brilliant sprinting colt Rubick has been retired and will stand at Coolmore Australia for the 2015 season. His fee has been set at $17,600 incl. GST.
“His natural speed and precocity are attributes that are very much in demand in the commercial market place,” said Coolmore Australia General Manager Michael Kirwan. “We’ve been overrun with enquiries for him for some time and people are going to be very impressed when they see him’.
The highest-rated two year-colt in Australia of the 2013/14 season, Rubick confirmed his class as a three year-old when defeating older Gr.1 sprinters at weight-for-age in the Gr.2 Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield.
Trainer Gerald Ryan, who also managed the race career of leading sire Snitzel, was effusive in his praise: “Rubick had incredible natural ability. I’ve never had a horse that could run the times that he did. He’s by far and away the fastest two year-old I’ve ever trainedand has always been a standout physically.”
Coolmore’s Tom Magnier added: “He’s an awesome speed machine by the same sire as Northern Meteor out of a three-parts sister to Redoute’s Choice. You would have to be excited by his prospects.”
Rubick is available for inspection by appointment at Coolmore. Please contact the office on 02 6576 4200 or a member of the Sales Team to arrange your visit.
