Saxon Warrior Colt Records Impressive Back-To-Back Wins

The well-regarded Sardinian Warrior (3c Saxon Warrior – La Collina, by Strategic Prince) returned to record another smart success at Southwell on Saturday.

John and Thady Gosden’s charge finished a promising second on his sole juvenile start and built on that effort to draw four and a half lengths clear at Southwell in late-April. He was sent off favourite to follow up over course and distance of a mile in Saturday’s novice stakes and made all of the running under Benoit de la Sayette. Drawing clear approaching the final furlong, he ran on well to win by three lengths, unchallenged, with another seven and a half lengths back to the third horse.

Bred by Kenilworth House Stud, Sardinian Warrior was bought by Jamie McCalmont as a foal for 200,000gns and now carries the colours of Marc Chan.
