Seven Length Winner for Vancouver
Exciting young sire Vancouver posted another impressive winner on Saturday with a resounding seven length victory for red hot favourite Night Raid (3f Vancouver x Raid by Pins).
Prepared by Mick Price and Mick Kent Jr, Night Raid was fourth beaten a little over a length at her only previous start at Flemington behind subsequent stakes-winner A Beautiful Night back in January.
She led all the way at Tatura at her first run since then and thrashed her rivals to win the 1100m maiden running away by seven lengths eased down.
A $160,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds draft for Sheamus Mills Bstock (FBAA)/Mick Price Racing, Night Raid is a half-sister to stakes-placed Mujallad and Tarismo being the fifth winner from five foals to race from stakes-winning Pins mare Raid.
Raid is a full sister to the dam of dual Group I winner Stratum Star and last season’s promising Group III winning colt Prague, the family tracing back to champion racemare Emancipation.
Night Raid is the 13th winner from the first Australian bred crop by Vancouver and is his second Australian winner since the start of the new season.
Golden Slipper winner Vancouver stands at a fee of $30,250.
