Fastnet Rock X Different To yearling filly conformation shot

Sheamus Mills Secures $1.1million Fastnet Rock Filly

Lime Country Thoroughbreds had the honour of selling the first million dollar filly at Inglis Easter when the half-sister by champion sire Fastnet Rock to Group I New Zealand Thousand Guineas winner Media Sensation sold for $1.1million.

Consigned on behalf of Grahame and Linda Huddy of Peachester Lodge, the filly was snapped up by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock.

Mills is mindful of the fact there are limited opportunities to secure fillies by the champion sire and was delighted to purchase this one.

“Fastnet Rock has sired 42 Group I winners, he’s just a phenomenal stallion and he’s now turning into a phenomenal broodmare sire and while I don’t come to a yearling sale to buy a broodmare, she does have that genuine long term residual value,” he said.

“She’s a half to a Group I winner and there are two Thousand Guineas winners on the page, which is sort of rare and I guess that’s what I think she looks like.

“I fell in love with her the second I saw her.”

One of only three fillies in this sale by Fastnet Rock, she is the sixth foal of Different To (NZ), a half-sister by High Chaparral to dual Group I winner Dorabella.
