Unavoidable (Gleneagles) Wins On Debut At Navan

Smart Son Of Gleneagles Rallies For Debut Win

Unavoidable (3g Gleneagles – Shannow, by Pivotal) demonstrated a likeable attitude when making a winning debut at Navan on Saturday.

Gavin Ryan partnered Donnacha O’Brien’s newcomer in the ten furlong maiden and rode the bay prominently throughout. Ridden from two furlongs out, he led a furlong later and dug deep to deny Rock Of Ireland (Rock Of Gibraltar) by a head. The pair rallied six lengths clear of the third horse.

“Unavoidable is a lovely big horse,” the winning trainer commented. “He has just taken plenty of time to come to himself. I thought he would be a bit green but he toughed it out well, he just got a bit lonely when he got there.”

The 140,000gns yearling buy is owned by Atlantic Thoroughbreds and was bred by Epona Bloodstock.
