So You Think X Diamond weanling filly

So You Think Fillies Popular at Inglis Weanlings

The first day of the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale produced good results for a couple of fillies by outstanding sire So You Think.

Only the third lot of the sale, the Middlebrook Valley consigned filly from Diamond was purchased by Cunningham Thoroughbreds / Ridgmont Farm / Clarke Bloodstock for $200,000.

Mitch Cunningham revealed she was initially targeted as a pinhook prospect, but given the price the likelihood was now that she would be kept to race.

Bred by Platinum Breeding and Racing, she is the first foal of a winning half-sister by Fastnet Rock to Group II winner Adrift, stakes-winner Xiong Feng and to the dam of Group I winner Entriviere with Cox Plate winner Maldivian also I the family.

“We had a lowish reserve. We knew we had a lot of interest in her, a lot of good players on her, so we thought we’d put her on the market early and see where she landed,” Platinum Breeding and Racing’s Roger Sousa told ANZ Bloodstock News.

“We got it right and it worked out well.”

Also in keen demand was Ashleigh Thoroughbreds So You Think filly from Mystic that was purchased by Bourne Racing Stable for $180,000.

A half-sister to five time winner French Marine, she is the second foal of Mystic, a winning daughter of stakes-winner Omens from the family of Group I winner Erewhon.
