Zihba (Choisir) winning at Dundalk

Stack has Classic plans for Choisir colt

An easy victory at Dundalk on Friday night for Zihba (3c Choisir-Fancy Vivid by Galileo) looks to have been a stepping stone for a Classic campaign for the Choisir colt.

Trainer Fozzy Stack held the G1 Irish 2,000 Guineas entry in high-regard before Friday’s mile contest, and an impressive two-length victory did nothing to dent his enthusiasm.

"He did it well, giving the runner-up 15lb. He's still a work in progress and he probably needed the run a bit there with all the hold-ups with the weather," said Stack. "He'll probably go for a Guineas trial somewhere. I'd say he wants fast ground.”

Zihba was bred by Mark and Caroline Hanly.
