Stakes Goals for Saxon Warrior Filly
A dual Group I winning son of Deep Impact headed to Australia this spring, Saxon Warrior featured in Ireland on Monday with promising winner Gan Teorainn (2f Saxon Warrior x Dance Troupe, by Rainbow Quest), who holds entries for several upcoming Group races.
Trained by Jim Bolger, she finished second on debut last month over 7f and took good improvement from that outing to win the 1m fillies maiden at Naas by two and a half lengths.
"Whatever she does as a 2-year-old is going to be a bonus and I think she's a real 3-year-old in the making. She's a lovely, big filly and has a lovely way of going," said winning rider Kevin Manning.
A homebred for Ennistown Stud , Gan Teorainn is entered for the Group II Debutante Stakes on August 20 and the Group I Moyglare Stud Stakes in September.
Geo Teorainn is a half-sister to Group III winner Noble Boy and stakes-placed Jellicle Ball and Aquila from a family featuring plenty of staying stakes-winners so longer trips should hold no fears.
Geo Teorainn is the seventh first crop winner for Saxon Warrior, who will have his first Australian runners this season and is headed back here to stand at a fee of $19,250.
Saxon Warrior had yearlings sell for up to $400,000 this year in Australia.
