Stakes win for Fastnet Rock blueblood

One Foot In Heaven (4c Fastnet Rock-Pride, by Peintre Celebre), a son of Fastnet Rock out of the great mare Pride, brought another stakes winner for his sire at Maisons-Laffitte on Tuesday. Trained, like his dam, by Alain de Royer-Dupre, the four-year-old took the Listed Prix Lord Seymour under Christophe Soumillon. “It was a quick race and he was very relaxed,” de Royer Dupre told JDG. “We’ll take our time with him. It was a tough race today, especially for a horse who is not fully mature. He has class and it’s great to see a horse accelerate like that, just like his mother!” Co-breeder Carina Kilnsberg added: “Pride has produced winners but this is her first black-type scorer. One Foot In Heaven looks like Pride as a boy! We chose the sire when we saw Fastnet Rock in Ireland and he was almost telling us ‘this is the stallion for Pride!’. It was a cross that we liked a lot.”
