Think it Over Wins $750,000 G3 Craven Plate
Kerry Parker’s stable star Think it Over (6g So You Think x Personal Service, by Zabeel) has been in rare form this spring posting his third win from his past four starts with a commanding victory in the $750,000 Group III ATC Craven Plate (2000m) at Randwick on Saturday.
The six year-old son of So You Think has formed a great partnership with Nash Rawiller, who once again steered him to a two length win over Sky Lab and Lion’s Roar.
"I think we've reached the top (of him) now, which is pretty good," Parker said.
"He showed what he could do last start when he really had to knuckle down and chase. Today, it was a pretty easy watch at the end of the day.
"He's a more furnished racehorse now. He's improved and he's enjoying it as much as we are."
The decision taken to keep Think It Over in Sydney rather than going to Melbourne for a Cox Plate bid looks like a wise one as he is now in line for a rich bonus if he can also claim the $750,000 Rosehill Gold Cup (2000m) in two weeks.
A homebred for Richard Johnston’s Bylong Park, Think It Over started his career with John Sargent, but has blossomed with maturity and now has the overall record of nine wins and 10 placings from 29 starts with prizemoney in excess of $2.7million.
Think It Over is the best of four winners from well bred unraced Zabeel mare Personal Service, a half-sister to Group I winners Universal Prince and Universal Queen as well as the dam of Group I ATC Coolmore Classic winner Krone.
Think It Over is the current flagbearer for So You Think, who was Australia’s busiest sire in 2020 covering 261 mares and stands at a fee of $77,000 this spring.
