US G3 Winner for So You Think
Stakes-placed four times previously talented mare Coachwhip (5m So You Think x Restless Rixa, by Linamix) broke the ice at stakes level when scoring a commanding win in the $100,000 Grade III Matron Stakes at Arlington on Saturday.
A homebred for Calumet Farm trained by Jack Sisterson, Coachwhip raced on the pace and charged clear to win the 1 and 1/8th mile contest by more than three lengths.
“I had all the confidence in the world in Tyler Baze with her,” Jack Sisterson said. “He got to know her in the Bewitch last time out, and came to work her out at Keenland where he was able to get her to relax in her works. I didn’t have to say a word to him, he knows her so well.”
With four wins and seven placings from 15 starts, Coachwhip was well deserving of her first stakes win and is the 19th stakes-winner for champion racehorse So You Think.
She is a half-sister to stakes-winner Redemptor and is one of seven winners from good producer Restless Rixa.
