Declaration Of War’s Actress takes centre stage in Curragh G3

Classy Declaration Of War filly Actress (3f Declaration Of War-Nasty Storm, by Gulch) added another Group-race success to her excellent record at the Curragh on Friday evening ahead of a possible tilt at the G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained three-year-old won the G3 Anglesey Stakes last season and on Friday landed the G3 Ballyogan Stakes with ease.

Seamie Heffernan always had Actress towards the front of the field in the six-furlong race and took charge in the closing stages to win by a length and a quarter from Gorane.

“She’s a good, solid filly. Seamus was delighted with her, she likes the fast ground and six furlongs is her,” said O’Brien. “She might go on to Ascot now for the G1 Commonwealth Cup. She’s solid, hardy and consistent and Seamus gave her a lovely ride.”
