Fleeting wins G2 May Hill for Zoffany
Aidan O’Brien sent out Fleeting (2f Zoffany-Azafata, by Motivator) to run out a brilliant winner of the G2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday.
The Zoffany filly came out best in an 11-runner quality field for the mile event when scoring by a length and a half.
“That was very encouraging, Fleeting picked up nicely,” said Paul Smith, whose father Derrick co-owns the filly. “Donnacha (O’Brien) said she was a little bit fresh going down to the start, he took his time with her and with hindsight - in that headwind - it was probably a good thing.
“She came through horses really well and we were really happy with her. She got the mile well and we'll look at something like the G1 Fillies' Mile or the G1 Marcel Boussac, they'd have to be on the radar now. She showed a nice temperament and picked them off well.”
Fleeting was bred in Ireland by Fernando Bermudez.
