Goddess (Camelot) winning her maiden at Leopardstown

Goddess is Rising Star for Camelot

It’s not just Camelot’s three-year-olds that are making a huge impression this year, for the red-hot sire had another high-class juvenile on show at Leopardstown on Thursday evening.

Goddess (2f Camelot-Cherry Hinton, by Green Desert) looked outstanding as she ran away with what looked a classy maiden by 10 lengths.

The victory earned the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly TDN Rising Star status and jockey Seamie Heffernan commented: “I just let her jump and stride along today. I’m not sure how good a race it was but she’s way better than average. I’d say she’s better than September.”

Goddess is a full-sister to recent US G1 winner Athena and continues a great season for Camelot’s juveniles that also included a Royal Ascot victory for Arthur Kitt (2c Camelot-Ceiling Kitty, by Red Clubs).
