Guitar Man Lands Classic For New Connections
The former Ballydoyle trained colt Guitar Man (3c Galileo - Beauty Bright, by Danehill) provided connections with a day to remember when capturing the Polish Derby at Warsaw on Sunday.
Joanna Wyrzyk made history when partnering the battling bay to success, as she became the first woman to ride the winner of the Polish Classic. Trained by her father Adam Wyrzyk, the Polish 2,000 Guineas third prevailed by a head on the line, with the front pair drawing seven lengths clear of the field.
Purchased privately from Ballydoyle, Guitar Man is now owned by his trainer with M Bialy, P Gorczyca, W Pawelus, K & L Radwanscy and T Szumski. The full-brother to Irish Derby Trial third Iberia (Galileo) appears destined for a stallion career in Poland after his big race victory.
