Warm Heart Signs Off With Valuable Win In Pegasus World Cup
Warm Heart (4f Galileo – Sea Siren, by Fastnet Rock) is set to visit Justify after achieving the perfect end to her racing career in the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational Stakes worth $1million.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained filly came into the race off the back of a fine third in the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase, having been narrowly denied in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf on her previous start. Dropping back to nine furlongs on Saturday, she was delivered between horses in the straight and led from a furlong out under Ryan Moore. Running on well, she led by half a length on the line.
“She's shown everything,” O’Brien said of the winner. “She's tough, she's durable, she travels, she's sound – I don't think you can ask for anything more from a filly. We feel privileged to be part of her story.”
Saturday marked a third top-level success for Warm Heart, who claimed prize money on every one of her starts. Owned by Westerberg with breeders Coolmore, she is another example of the extremely successful Galileo/Fastnet Rock cross.
