Single Blonde Sale

$1.2million for Mare in Foal to Wootton Bassett

The Element Hill Dispersal has already had a big payday from Wootton Bassett when they sold the yearling half-sister by him to Golden Sixty for $1million on Tuesday at the Magic Millions National Sale and they had another big result when selling well related broodmare Single Blonde in foal to him for $1.2million on Thursday.

A stakes-placed mare by Not a Single Doubt that was bred and retained to race by the Hutchins family of Element Hill, Single Blonde was bought by Tom Magnier.

She is a half-sister to Group III winners Boognish and Colour from stakes-winner Regrowth, whose stakes-winning dam True Blonde is from influential producer Easy Date, whose descendants include Golden Slipper winner Forensics and Group I winners such as Snippets, Oohood and Kings Legacy, not to mention her sire Not a Single Doubt.

Single Blonde has already made her mark at this sale with her second foal, a filly by I Am Invincible, topping the weanling sale for Element Hill when fetching $800,000 to the bid of Hill 'n' Dale Xalapa/William Johnson Bloodstock.

"A lovely mare in foal to Wootton Bassett," Tom Moore, representing the Coolmore team said.

"We all saw the I Am Invincible filly top the sale here last week. "She was a highly rated filly, so you can bid on them with confidence knowing that she can produce commercial types in the sale ring.

"Obviously the fact that she is in foal to Wootton Bassett is a big plus for us. We can take her home, foal her down and if she has a nice Wootton Bassett it is very easy to go back to him.

“Or we can take her to Home Affairs and breed a three quarter to the $800,000 filly that sold earlier in the week.”
