Reelem In Ruby (Pierro) winning the Gr.2 Hot Danish Stakes at Rosehill

20th Stakes-Winner for Pierro

The $500,000 Group II ATC Hyland Race Colours Hot Danish Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on Saturday delivered a well deserved stakes victory for talented mare Reelem in Ruby (4m Pierro x Bobine, by Giant’s Causeway).

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden for Triple Crown Syndications, Reelem in Ruby was sent out favourite and cruised clear to win by a length and a quarter for Tim Clark, who partnered Hot Danish to the majority of her 16 wins.

"It's nice to win the race named in her honour because she did so much for me and my career," Clark said.

It was a first stakes win for mare Reelem In Ruby who was narrowly defeated in the Group III ATC The Nivison at her most recent start.

"She is a very genuine little filly, she fights above her weight category, that's for sure. She just pins the ears back and has a real crack," Clark added.

Purchased by Triple Crown Syndications for $90,000 out of the Mayfield Thoroughbreds draft at the 2017 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Reelem In Ruby advances her record to four wins and six placings from 10 starts with earnings of $547,620.

"She has been knocking on the door," Paul Snowden said.

"It's her tenth start in a race and she hasn't finished further back than third in her life.

"It was really vital to get that black type on her page for her breeding career."

Reelem In Ruby is the second winner from as many to race out of the imported Giant’s Causeway mare Bobine (USA) a half-sister to the Champion turf filly in USA in 1995, Possibly Perfect, whose 11 wins included six at Grade I level.

Reelem In Ruby becomes the 20th stakes winner for Pierro, who is riding high this season siring the winners of over $6.5 million in prizemoney with six stakes-winners on the board.
