$300,000 Justify Filly Shines at Inglis Australian Weanling Sale
Undefeated Triple Crown hero Justify had just four of his first crop weanlings entered for the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale and was saving the best for last when the final offering, and his only filly in the sale, fetched $300,000 for Fairhill Farm to be the highest priced filly of the sale.
The half-sister to Group II winner and $1.5million earner Fiesta was bought by successful pinhookers Silverdale Farm/ Suman Hedge Bloodstock and was bred by Fairhill Farm’s Mike O’Donnell.
She is the eighth foal from Now Now, a five time winning Danehill Dancer mare from the family of Group III winners Stick Around and Charm Scene Land as well as Group I placed stakes-winner Kingsgate.
Justify finished the sale with all four of his weanlings selling at an average $218,750, which was the highest of all sires at the sale with three or more sold.
Fairhill Farm sold the two highest priced yearlings by Justify with Mike O’Donnell keep to praise the exciting young stallion.
"Danehill was a shuttle stallion starting out once as well, wasn't he? Justify was an unbeaten champion winner of the Triple Crown in his first prep, and so it’s very hard not to send our mares to him,” O’Donnell told ANZ Bloodstock News.
“That level of horse hasn't come out here before. If Secretariat had come out they would have jumped all over him.
“They are beautiful horses, and you’d think they would only improve from weanlings to yearlings.”
Other sales for Justify were: $280,000 for a colt from Tails Wins offered by Fairhill Farm and bought by China Horse Club / Newgate Bloodstock; $150,000 for a Coolmore consigned colt from Took (USA) bought by Fernrigg Farm and $145,000 for a colt from Fine Scent offered by Yarraman Park and bought by Binalong Bloodstock.
His success bodes well for the upcoming Magic Millions Weanling Sale where he has six youngsters catalogued for sale, click here to see them.
