4YO Maiden Winner Continues Fine Week For Vadamos
Matata (4g Vadamos - Wattrey, by Royal Academy) continued a fine week for his sire when making a winning debut in Sunday’s four-year-old maiden at Tallow.
The David Murphy-trained bay was clearly held in high regard by connections, as he was sent off a well-supported favourite under James Hannon. The Donal Cummins-owned gelding made virtually all the running and scored by three lengths.
Bred by David Commins from the family of Salsabil, Matata becomes a fourth winner of the week by Grange Stud sire Vadamos.
Spycatcher (Vadamos) recorded a first Stakes success the previous day, while Sunwalk (Vadamos) landed a Dundalk maiden on Friday and Justicialism (Vadamos) kicked off the week with a maiden win over hurdles.
