Vancouver ex Epingle colt conformation shot

$540,000 Vancouver Colt Stars at Premier

Golden Slipper winner Vancouver made a splash during the opening day of the 2019 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale when his colt from Epingle (NZ) made $540,000 to be the second highest priced horse sold during Sunday’s session.

Consigned by leading Victorian nursery Gilgai Farm, the colt is the second foal of Group III winning Pins mare Epingle and was knocked down to renowned bloodstock agent John Foote.

He was purchased on behalf of a Hong Kong client and will be trained by Mick Price, who is well pleased with the Vancouver stock that he has seen.

“You can only go on the physicality and the physical type is very appealing,” Price told ANZ Bloodstock News.

“I’m wrapped to have him. The Vancouver colts look like colts and the fillies like fillies. They have strength and athleticism.”

Vancouver has more lovely yearlings to be offered at this sale and will have a crackerjack draft of 25 for the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on April 9 and 10.
