Fastnet Rock x Dream Play filly

$750,000 Fastnet Rock Filly ex Dream Play Makes Magic

The highest priced filly during the opening session of the 2016 Magic Millions Yearling Sale at the Gold Coast on Wednesday was a stunning Fastnet Rock youngster from imported mare Dream Play that made $750,000 for Kia Ora Stud. The stylish bay was knocked down to astute Newcastle trainer Paul Perry, who prepared her champion sire Fastnet Rock. He bought the filly on behalf of the Gillard family, with Steve Gillard on hand for the purchase. "I’m very excited about her,” Steve Gillard said. "The type and the page – we do a bit of breeding and Paul’s probably the best judge in the world. "He thought she was a great type and we’re very excited to be able to get her.” The star filly is a full sister to Group II winner Zululand and is the third foal of US bred Group II winner Dream Play. Also starring for Fastnet Rock on day one were a filly from El Laoob (USA) that made $550,000 for Newgate Farm when secured by Hong Kong based Thomas Li and a colt from Eau de Joie that made $420,000 for Baramul Stud when bought by Chris Waller.
