Mc Fabulous (Milan) Wins The Novices Chase At Exeter

Accomplished Son Of Milan Impresses Over Fences

The talented McFabulous (8g Milan - Rossaven, by Beneficial) added an impressive win over fences to his CV at Exeter on Monday.

A multiple Graded winner over hurdles, the Paul Nicholls-trained bay slipped on his chase debut earlier this month, but showed no ill effects as he made all of the running on Monday. Even a loose horse could not deter the even-money favourite, as he was shaken up to go clear from the second last and kept on to score by nine lengths under Harry Cobden.

“I was delighted with him,” Cobden said after the race. “He jumped really well. I’m sure Paul will have a plan soon about where he’ll go next, but he’s quite versatile. He’s certainly one of our novice chasers to go to war with this season.”

Owned by Giraffa Racing, McFabulous also previously won a Grade 2 bumper as a five-year-old. The son of Milan was sold by breeder Vincent Finn to Tom Malone for €88,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale.
