Alpha Bella Latest Winner for Justify
Justify added a 28th winner to his resume on Sunday when Don Alberto Stable's homebred Alpha Bella (2f Justify x Andina, by Singspiel) won a Gulfstream Park Maiden Special Weight.
The switch to grass after starting her career on dirt seemed to do the trick for the Todd Pletcher trainee, who was never far behind the leader in the one-mile turf affair. Stalking the pace throughout, she started a serious challenge near the quarter pole and had the lead as the field entered the final furlong.
A battle with another runner was just what she needed to stay focused with Alpha Bella winning by a neck as the race favorite.
Alpha Bella is one of six winners from six to race out of the stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed Andina. That mare has produced two graded stakes winners as well.
Andina has a yearling filly by Uncle Mo to come as well.
The sire of 28 winners, Justify’s six stakes winners, four graded stakes winners, and seven graded stakes winners is the best of his generation.
