Another Exciting 3YO for Vancouver

A runaway debut victory for Ice in Vancouver (3g Vancouver x Skating in Ice, by Bradbury’s Luck) at Scone last month was followed up by an equally impressive win at the same venue on Tuesday.

The Cody Morgan trained gelding was a hot favourite for the Benchmark 58 event over 1150m and duly thrashed a big field of 14 runners to win by four and a half lengths.

Ice in Vancouver has been so impressive in his two wins to date that connections are considering the possibility of a tilt at the $1million Kosciuszco if there is any interest from slot holders.

Given Yes Yes Yes won The Everest as a three year-old last year, why not a Kosciuszco run for a talented country three year-old.

Retained to race by his breeder, Ice in Vancouver is the third winner from three foals to race out of stakes-placed Bradbury’s Luck mare Skating on Ice.

He comes with an interesting pedigree featuring some serious line breeding.

Skating in Luck’s sire Bradbury’s Luck is from Group I winner Skating, who is also the grand-dam of Vancouver, so Ice in Vancouver has a double cross of not only champion sire Danehill, but also blue hen Skating.

Vancouver is a young stallion heading in the right direction as we move through spring and stands this spring at a fee of $30,250.
