Another Feature Win for Lady of Shamrock

Classy mare Lady of Shamrock (4m Scat Daddy x Blushing Issue, by Blushing John) returned to top form to win the Grade II Santa Barbara Handicap at Santa Anita on the weekend, albeit securing the victory in the steward’s room. The John Sadler trained mare struck interference in the stretch and was second over the line before stewards moved to award her the race. Lady of Shamrock emerged as the best of her generation on the West Coast turf circuit last season with wins in the Grade III Providencia Stakes, the Grade I American Oaks and Grade I Del Mar Oaks, so her return to top form is not unexpected. Lady of Shamrock has won seven races and placed three times from 13 starts earning over $800,000 in prizemoney. Raced by Hronis Racing LLC, Lady of Shamrock is a half-sister to Grade II winner Smooth Jazz, stakes-winner She’s Sensational and is one of six winners from Blushing Issue, a half-sister to Grade I winner Royal Chariot. Lady of Shamrock is the best of 12 stakes-winners by leading young sire Scat Daddy.
