Another for Fastnet Rock
Fastnet Rock had a second northern hemisphere-sired winner in four days when the John Gosden-trained Dorothy B (2f Fastnet Rock-Slow Sand, by Dixieland Band) was successful on Thursday.
The Robin Geffen-owned filly, who boasts an entry in the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes, took a Nottingham maiden by two and a quarter lengths from the black-type performer Hoku and now looks destined for bigger things.
“It was a very hot day for her debut and the kickback was horrendous, so she did well to finish fourth. She's come on for that run, but still showed signs of greenness here, so there's probably more to come,” jockey Robert Havlin told the Racing Post.
On Monday, Fastnet Rock had his first northern hemisphere-sired winner when the Richard Hannon-trained Oriel (2f Fastnet Rock-Labisa, by High Chaparral) won a decent Windsor maiden.
