Another smart 3yo for Galileo
The unstoppable Galileo had another exciting three-year-old on show at Roscommon on Monday night in the shape of Listed winner Quest For Peace (3c Galileo-Play Misty For Me, by Danehill Dancer).
The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt was having his first start since a four-length Leopardstown maiden win in April as he lined up in the Listed Lenebane Stakes. Jockey Colm O’Donoghue was always tracking the leaders in the 12-furlong contest before swooping in the closing stages to a length and a quarter success.
O’Donoghue told www.irishracing.com: “He’s still a baby and will improve again. He should continue to come on throughout the year.”
Quest For Peace was scoring 48 hours after Lagalp (4f Galileo-La Dane, by Danehill) was an impressive winner in Hamburg and three days after Igugu (4f Galileo-Zarinia, by Intikhab) gave her incredible sire yet another top-level success when winning the G1 Durban July in South Africa.
