Back To Back Wins For Smart Son Of Foostepsinthesand

Crimson Sand (3g Footstepsinthesand - Crimson Sunrise, by Holy Roman Emperor) confirmed himself a smart sprinting prospect when registering back-to-back wins at Lingfield on Wednesday.

The Richard Hughes-trained bay ran out an impressive winner over five furlongs at the track in February and was sent off the even-money favourite when stepping up to six furlongs. Jamie Spencer rode him to track the leaders, asking him to quicken from two furlongs out and ran down Rosie Powers to lead close home.

Bought by his trainer as a yearling for 75,000gns, Crimson Sand runs in the colours of Ms JA Wakefield. The son of Footstepsinthesand was bred by Vincent Hannon out of two-time winner Crimson Sunrise (Holy Roman Emperor).
