Barkley Goes Five for Five

Talented colt Barkley (3c Munnings x Numero d’Oro, by Medaglia D’Oro) kept his unbeaten record intact when saluting in the $50,000 Coca Cola Stakes at Emerald Downs on Sunday.

The Howard Belvoir trained chestnut had won his four previous races, all at Emerald Downs, and added to his tally with a neck win in the one mile feature, his first attempt at two turns.

A modest $21,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase, Barkley has won over $100,000 in prizemoney and is the first winner for Numero D’Oro, an unraced daughter of stakes-winner Numero Uno.
