Beauty N Brains (Cupid) Winning At Delaware Park

Beauty N Brains 10 ¾ Length Winner for Cupid

Beauty N Brains (2f Cupid x Rockport Beauty, by Rockport Harbor) proved that she also has talent Wednesday with a 10 ¾ length debut victory at Delaware Park.

The filly broke alertly in the 5 ½ furlong dirt dash and was quickly one of the two leaders before becoming the only leader. Carol Cedeno had Beauty N Brains well in hand after she took the lead and had plenty of horse under him.

There was no threat to Beauty N Brains’s victory once her head was in front with the filly looking more like she was out for a gallop than a race. Cedeno gave her oner tap in the stretch to keep her focused but that was the only time she was remotely asked for effort as she crossed the line 10 ¾ lengths the best with the third placed horse 19 ½ lengths behind the winner and the rest of the field over 20 lengths back.

Beauty N Brains was purchased by trainer and owner Anthony Pecoraro as a yearling last year. The filly was originally sold by breeder Brandywine Farm as a weanling.

Beauty N Brains is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Blazinbeauty and multiple stakes placed Indigo Beauty with their dam Rockport Beauty producing seven winners from seven runners. There are stakes performers under each of Beauty N Brains’s first four dams with her third dam Jove’s Lady both a stakes placer and producer in addition to being the granddam of stakes winner Fraterno.

A Grade I winner by emerging sire-of-sires Tapit, Cupid’s first 10 runners have produced seven top three finishers led by two winners.
