Chatshow TV (Soldier Of Fortune) sells for £150,000 At Tattersalls Cheltenham

Bright Prospects By Soldier Of Fortune In Demand At Cheltenham

Beeches Stud sire Soldier of Fortune was responsible for a pair of six-figure sales at the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale on Friday.

The great promise shown by Chatshow TV (4g Soldier Of Fortune - Back On Stage, by Stowaway) on debut last month saw Denis Murphy’s charge sell for £150,000. Highflyer Bloodstock’s Tessa Greatrex provided the final bid on behalf of Jim & Claire Bryce, owners of Rhonehurst Stables. “He was second on his only start so far, but that looks a strong race,” Greatrex said. “We love Soldier Of Fortune as a sire.”

Chatshow TV finished second to a well-backed favourite in a four-year-old maiden at Lingstown, where the second division was won by the exciting Simple Getaway (Getaway), who subsequently sold for £180,000.

Runner-up honours went the way of the newcomer Charming Fortune (4g Soldier Of Fortune - Belle River, by Shantou), who sold on Friday for £120,000.

Gavin Cromwell was the successful buyer of Cian Hughes’s bright prospect and provided a fine return on the €60,000 paid by CH Thoroughbreds at the Derby Sale.
