Camelot’s Popularity Continues With Six-Figure Foal

Following an extraordinary season, Camelot’s progeny have been in high demand at the foal sales, achieving an average price of €213,500 at Goffs. The trend continued at Tattersalls on Tuesday, when his sole offering sold for 140,000gns.

Shrewd judges Paul and Marie McCartan of Ballyphilip Stud were the successful purchasers, while Drumlin Bloodstock and Yellowford Farm were the celebratory consignors.

After signing the docket, Paul McCartan commented: “Camelot is a very, very good stallion and this is a beautiful filly. We loved her from the first time we saw her and she showed very well. She comes from a top farm.”

Expanding on Camelot’s appeal, he added: “We all saw the filly who won the Arc this year, and we actually had a quick look at the buyers of Camelot yearlings this year; everybody likes him, everybody buys his stock. Hopefully one of those names will show up next year when this filly comes back to the sales. Or maybe even two, that would be better than one!”
