Diamond Oops (Lookin At Lucky) winning the Buffalo Man Stakes at Gulfstream

Career Best Win for Diamond Oops

Progressive sprinter Diamond Oops (4g Lookin at Lucky x Patriotic Viva, by Whywhywhy) scored the biggest win of his career at Gulfstream on Saturday taking out the $250,000 Grade III Smile Sprint.

A two time stakes-winner earlier in his career, the Patrick Biancone trained gelding settled off the pace for Julien Leparoux and hit the line hard to win the six furlong sprint by three-quarters of a length.

“He broke very, very sharp and I kind of let the speed go a little bit,” Leparoux said. “I sat behind them around the turn. It got tight so he sort of stepped back a little, but when I gave him a little room he gave me a big run.”

One of 45 stakes-winners worldwide for Lookin at Lucky, Diamond Oops has the overall record four wins from eight starts and has won over $300,000 in prizemoney.

Diamond Oops is a half-brother to stakes-winner Patriotic Diamond from stakes-winning dam Patriotic Viva.
