Churchill Filly Goes One Better In Mile Maiden
Star Jasmine (3f Churchill – Where’s Sue, by Dark Angel) built on two promising performances to win the fillies’ maiden at Bath on Sunday afternoon.
The George boughey-trained filly finished second on her first two starts and was partnered by Billy Loughnane once again on her third attempt. Racing in touch throughout the mile contest, she was pushed along approaching the two furlong pole and ridden to lead inside the final furlong. She kept on well to beat Turn Up The Heat (Gleneagles) by a length and a quarter, with the pair finishing three lengths and three quarters clear of the third.
Star Jasmine was bought by Charlie Gordon Watson as a yearling for 400,000gns and now carries the colours of Lady Bamford. The daughter ofChurchill was bred by Mountain View Stud and JC Bloodstock.
