Churchill Filly Makes Perfect Start In Naas Maiden
Duckadilly (3f Churchill – Alutiq, by Kodiac) provided young trainer Daniel McLoughlin with his first winner when making a smart debut in Saturday’s fillies’ maiden at Naas.
The daughter of Churchill was the subject of some market support ahead of the mile contest, in which Oisin McSweeney rode her prominently. Ridden to lead a furlong from home, she overcame signs of inexperience to beat the more experienced favourite by a neck.
“I’m over the moon,” the winning trainer said. “She’s been doing everything right but actually hasn’t got a whole lot done, only a few half speeds. She hadn’t been off the bridle.”
Duckadilly is owned by Chris Mullins and was bred by Murcot Investments.
