Churchill Represented By Well Bred Colts At Goffs UK

A trio of well-bred colts aim to provide European champion two-year-old colt and dual Guineas hero Churchill with a successful start to the yearling sales at the Goffs UK Premier Sale.

By Galileo and out of Queen Mary Stakes second Meow (Storm Cat), Churchill boasts the pedigree of a top-class racehorse and proved so with four top-level successes. His pedigree, talent and good looks attracted 211 mares in his first season at stud and breeders were rewarded at last year’s foal sales, where his first crop sold for up to €270,000.

His first crop is expected to prove just as popular with yearling buyers and their first chance will come courtesy of Lot 104 from Ballyhane Stud. Bay, like his sire, the colt is a half-brother to Listed winner Queen Of Desire and is out of three-time Stakes scorer Beyond Desire.

Well-related Listed winner Ighraa was another of the 42 Stakes winners covered by Churchill in 2018 and the resulting chesnut colt will be offered by Aston Mullins Stud as Lot 253.

Completing the trio is Lot 201 from the Castlebridge Consignment; a bay colt out of a half-sister to Listed winner Tinshu, from the family of Group 1 winners Catella and Glint Of Gold.
