Classic Empire Daughter Brings $100,000 in Texas

A Classic Empire filly realized $100,000 at Monday’s Texas Summer Yearling and Horses of Racing Age Sale when hammered down to Al Pike as the most expensive filly and second most expensive offering of the sale.

Consigned by Roger Daly for breeder H & E Ranch, the filly out of Just Like Pop is a half-sister to two-time winner Stormy Music, her dam’s only foal to race. Classic Empire’s first offering to go through the ring this yearling sales season is a granddaughter of multiple stakes winner Amazing Buy.

Amazing Buy herself is a half-sister to Canadian champion Alpha Bettor out of stakes winner Scatter Buy.

Champion 2-Year-Old Classic Empire’s first weanlings were in high demand last winter with an average of $108,925 and median of $85,000, led by a $285,000 colt.
