Classic entry Cameo yet another to shine for Camelot

Camelot’s exciting three-year-olds just keep on coming and on Tuesday it was the turn of Cameo (3f Camelot-Reine Des Plages, by Danehill Dancer) to show off her talents with a runaway victory in the colours of Derrick Smith.

A 160,000 euros yearling purchase trained by Jean-Claude Rouget and bred by Thierry Storme, Cameo looks sure to step up in class and her entries include the G1 Prix de Diane.

JDG commented: “On form and given her entries in the Prix de Diane and Saint-Alary, Cameo was the logical favourite for the Prix de Vic-Bigorre and she didn’t disappoint her fans, winning by a little over two lengths in very soft ground.

“Midway through the race, Cameo effortlessly moved forward to head towards the front of the field. She then came through to win very easily without giving her jockey Jean-Bernard Eyquem any worries. She looks a serious performer.”
