Anything Will Do Becomes The Latest Winner By Westerner

Consistent Son Of Westerner Completes Hat Trick

The Joseph O’Brien-trained Anything Will Do (4g Westerner - Aylesbury Park, by Old Vic) completed a hat-trick of wins when taking Sunday’s Novice Hurdle at Punchestown.

A course and distance winner last time out, the bay was ridden by JJ Slevin to make all the running and extended his advantage from two out. Pushed along, he kept on well on the run-in to hold off Quartz Du Rheu by a length and a half, as they finished 18 lengths clear of the field.

The winning trainer commented after the race, “He 's improving and is hardy. JJ gave him a lovely simple ride. He could go to Limerick after Christmas.”

Anything Will Do boasts a fine record, winning four of his five starts for the Annus Mirabilis Syndicate. The son of Westerner was bred by Miss Ann Twomey and is a half-brother to Graded performer Stand Up And Fight (Flemensfirth).
