Coolmore Sires at Classic
Fillies by Tale of the Cat and Choisir led the way on the second day of the 2012 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in Sydney.
Topping the second session at $120,000 was a Tale of the Cat filly from stakes-placed Hurricane Sky mare Zakuro, who was offered by Crowning Stone as agent for Noble Note and was knocked down to Insurance Direct, NSW.
Not far behind was a strapping chestnut filly that is closely related to globe-trotting superstar Starspangledbanner, being by his sire Choisir from stakes-winning Last Tycoon (IRE) mare Tagine, whose grand-dam is a half-sister to the dam of Starspangledbanner.
Offered by Berkeley Park Stud, the filly was purchased for $110,000 by David O’Keeffe of Lockyer Thoroughbreds.
Henrythenavigator made his presence felt with a filly from Coffee Shop (USA) fetching $90,000 for Amarina Farm when secured by Randwick Bloodstock Agency for $90,000, while on the first day of the sale Fastnet Rock starred with a filly from Polite (USA) that made $100,000 for Middlebrook Valley Lodge when secured by Topline Thoroughbreds.
Brett Howard of Randwick Bloodstock was delighted with the Henrythenavigator filly, commenting, "I loved this filly. She'll gallop for sure!"
The sale concludes on Tuesday
