Curragh Listed Success for Holy Roman Emperor

Tough and consistent filly An Ghalanta (2f Holy Roman Emperor x Alamanta, by Ali-Royal) battle gamely for a first Listed victory in thetote.com Curragh Stakes over five furlongs at the Curragh.

Jim Bolger’s homebred was always towards the head of affairs and took up the lead with two furlongs to go before fending off the late charge of Boris Grigoriev (2c Excellent Art x Strategy, by Machiavellian) to prevail by a head.

"She hasn't run too many bad races and she is improving,” Bolger told irishracing.com afterwards. “Sprinting is her game. She might not run again this season as there aren't too many five furlong races for her.”
