Donthavetime (Westerner) Lands The Mares Maiden Hurdle At Sligo

Daughter Of Westerner Keeps It Simple In Maiden Hurdle

Donthavetime (5m Westerner - Louve Sereine, by Sadler’s Wells) built on a fine hurdle debut to land the mares’ maiden hurdle at Sligo on Tuesday afternoon.

The Jessica Harrington-trained bay was beaten just half a length in a similar contest earlier this season and was sent off a short-priced favourite under champion jockey Paul Townend. Chasing the leaders for much of the way, she was pushed along to lead approaching the turn for home and was ridden out from the final flight. The winning margin was half a length, with the front pair drawing eight and a half lengths clear of the field.

Owned by John Redmond, Donthavetime was bred by Conor Cashman and Tim Magner.
