Declaration of War Popular at Saratoga

A flurry of promising winners and a switch from Ireland to Ashford Stud in Kentucky brought keen interest in the progeny of War Front’s Grade I winning son Declaration of War at the 2017 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearling Sale.

Four of his yearlings were sold, averaging an impressive $247,500, a great result when you consider his fee at Ashford this year was $35,000.

Best result for Declaration of War was a yearling filly from Good Time Sally that made $325,000. She was bred by Timmy Hyde's Camas Park Stud and consigned by Eaton Sales as agent, with Virginia-based PTK stable securing the filly, who is a half-sister to two winners from a daughter of Grade III winner Golden Temper. Also selling well the colt from Grade I winner Harmony Lodge that made $245,000 when knocked down to bloodstock agent Bruce Lunsford.
