Diva Delite Tops Fasig-Tipton Offerings In Foal to Justify
Five-time Grade I winner Midnight Bisou’s dam Diva Delite proved to be a headliner at Fasig-Tipton’s November Sale when bringing $1.2 million from David Redvers in-foal to exciting young stallion Justify.
A Grade III winner herself, Diva Delite was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency as Hip 173 during the marquee Tuesday night sale. The mare has proven to be a top broodmare in addition to racehorse, with two stakes horses from four runners and one other runner placed in Ireland.
The mare was the most expensive offering in foal to Justify to sell on Tuesday evening and Redvers said her mating to Justify played a large part in the purchase with the stallion fitting her well.
“We loved her. We thought she’s a beauty and we thought she suits the covering sire spectacularly well. Certainly you’re always looking for a broodmare who is going to suit a stallion physically,” he told the Racing Post. “She’s got the quality and the size that’s going to work well with him. The package is what you’re after and it’s a very, very exciting package."
The winner of four Grade I races, Justify was the first Triple Crown winner to retire undefeated and earned Horse of the Year honors for his efforts. His exciting first book includes 59 Group/Grade 1 winners and/or producers.
