Dude N Colorado Impressive Winner For Uncle Mo
Dude N Colorado (2c Uncle Mo x Limonar, by Street Cry) made a big impression at Gulfstream Park on Saturday with a gate-to-wire Maiden Special Weight victory.
The Three Diamond Farm representative bolted to the lead in the 1 1/16 mile synthetic race where he kept control of the race from the start. Kept honest by other rivals throughout the race, Irad Ortiz Jr. cued him to reach another gear turning into the stretch and that was all he needed to lock up the race.
The Todd Pletcher trainee pulled away to win by 3 ¼ lengths in his second career start after finishing third in October.
Bred by St Elias Stables, Dude N Colorado is out of the stakes winning Limonar, who has also produced multiple Grade II winner Spanish Mission and stakes winner Mokarris among her five winners from five to race. Limonar herself is a half-sister to Grade I winner Talco and form the family of Irish champions Bachelor Duke and Sonnyboyliston.
Dude N Colorado is the 18th juvenile winner of the year for Uncle Mo, whose 2-year-old crop has yielded two stakes winners and five stakes performers.
