Echo Sound Determined Winner for Echo Town
It was a fourth first crop winner for Echo Town on Saturday when Echo Sound (2f Echo Town x Eagle Sound, by Fusaichi Pegasus) won a Maiden Special Weight on debut at Ellis Park.
Coming one race after Maximum Security’s Maximum Promise romped home in an all-the-way win the opener, Echo Sound was happier to sit just off the pace in the six furlong dirt race. The filly pressured the leader early on, happily taking up a spot at that one’s hip.
The race went quick with Echo Sound dropping back shortly before making a big run to win by three quarters of a length.
Trained by Rusty Arnold for Gabriel Duignan, the filly was bred by Springhouse Farm, Vision TBs, and Bruce and Patricia Pieratt.
She is a half-sister to the Grade II winning Pick of the Litter and Grade II-placed Deer District among her dam’s eight winners from 10 others to race. Under this filly’s second dam is the Grade I winner Competitive Edge and Grade II winner Wild Syn while her third dam is the dam of Grade I winner All Fired Up.
Grade I form is strong in the family with others named under her third dam including Grade I winners Constitution, Emcee, Awesome Humor, and Spun to Run.
Four winners from his first crop ties Echo Town with champion studmate Maximum Security and four-time Grade I winning studmate Tiz The Law in seventh among all freshmen sires.
