Envoutante (Uncle Mo) winning the Gr.2 Falls City at Aqueduct

Envoutante Doubles Up in G2 Falls City

Uncle Mo’s Envoutante (4f Uncle Mo x Enchante, by Bluegrass Cat) became only the second two-time winner of the Grade II Falls City Stakes at Churchill Downs on Thanksgiving day with a six length romp.

Racing alongside multiple graded stakes winner Army Wife in front as they set the pace, she grudgingly gave up the lead through the mid part of the race. When she reclaimed it in the turn, she wasn’t giving it back and quickly shot away from the field.

Munnings’ Bonny South had second place wrapped up in midstretch, finishing 3 ½ lengths ahead of another Uncle Mo daughter in third placed Audrey’s Time.

It was the sixth career victory for Walking L Thoroughbreds and Three Chimneys Farm’s runner, who has hit the board in 12 of 16 career starts for $931,658 in earnings under the tutelage of Kenny McPeek.

“Even though we were battling on the front end, down the backside she was still traveling very comfortably,” Hernandez Jr. said. “I knew going into the far turn and at the quarter pole my filly would have enough kick left in her for the stretch. She ran a great effort and repeated her race from last year’s Falls City.”

Envoutante was a $250,000 yearling purchase by her racing owners from Baccari Bloodstock as a yearling and is the first runner for Jumping Jack Racing’s multiple stakes placed Enchante. The filly also comes from the family of champion racehorse and sire Forty Niner.

Enchante also has an unraced Classic Empire 2-year-old colt named Surpassing, who registered a bullet work two days before his sister won. The mare returned to Uncle Mo this year.
