Araminta (Gleneagles) Wins The Listed Height Of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood

Exciting Gleneagles Filly Captures Listed Contest

Araminta (3f Gleneagles - Mince, by Medicean) continued a fine start to the season for Gleneagles when making it two from three in the Listed Height Of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood.

The Henry Candy-trained filly made an impressive debut at Newbury last month and confirmed her promise with a close third to accomplished elders Roman Mist (Holy Roman Emperor) and Zellie (Wootton Bassett) at Listed level. Stepping up to ten furlongs on Friday, she was settled in midfield by Trevor Whelan and was asked to quicken from three furlongs out. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, she ran on well to score by a length and a half, while Secret Solace (Gleneagles) kept on in third.

Connections are now considering supplementing Araminta for the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot. Bred by Blue Diamond Stud, the daughter of Gleneagles is owned by St Albans Bloodstock, Acloque and Frost.
