Exciting Juvenile Emerges For Fastnet Rock

Royal Air Force (2c Fastnet Rock - Private Paradise, by Galileo) emerged as an exciting juvenile when running out a seven length winner on debut on Monday.

The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained bay had clearly impressed at home, given that the market sent him off favourite for the seven furlong contest, despite being the sole newcomer in the field. Ryan Moore rode him at the back of the field and began to make headway from over two furlongs out. Soon in front, he was asked to quicken approaching the final furlong and raced clear to win in impressive fashion.

Owned by Edward Ware and purchased as a yearling for 105,000gns, Royal Air Force holds an entry in next year’s Epsom Derby. The son of Fastnet Rock was bred by Ben Sangster Bloodstock out of Private Paradise (Galileo), a winning full-sister to top-class miler Roderic O’Connor (Galileo).

Galileo mares sent to Fastnet Rock have previously produced Group 1 winners Intricately, Zhukova, Qualify and Rivet.
